The journey of making an inspiration into a book is divine. I never intended to write a book when I received the inspiration to write on that fateful afternoon. I just wanted to write a blog post as usual, but here we are; that inspiration birthed a book, “A Royalty, A Slave: The Irony of True Identity and Reality.”
“A Royalty, A Slave: The Irony of True Identity and Reality” has officially launched!
To mark this incredible milestone, I had the honour of sitting down with the brilliant Adediwura Afolabi, the moderator, for a launch interview. This post is a celebration of that moment and a chance to share the insights and emotions we discussed. It's a look back at the journey and a glimpse into the future of this book.
Let's dive in!

Adediwura Afolabi: Tolulope Owasanoye is a Visionary driven by the passion to see young minds transform and stay rooted in God's plan.
She's into writing — content writing and creative writing, to be precise. She doesn't just write; she writes to order the steps of a generation.
Furthermore, she is an author with her recent publication, A ROYALTY, A SLAVE: THE IRONY OF TRUE IDENTITY AND REALITY. This life-changing book is for the lost, the searching, those who believe life isn't worth living, and those who think their current situation defines who they are. It's not just a book, but a guide to finding your true identity.
She also runs a blog, faraboverubies1.blogspot.com. Through her blog, she creates a safe space for women to connect with their Creator and discover their worth in God's plan.
She's all about establishing worth, nurturing spiritual intimacy, and equipping young minds for destiny.
She's currently an undergraduate at The Federal University of Technology, Akure.
Tolulope Owasanoye: Thank you so much for having me. It's an honour to be here.
Adediwura Afolabi: What inspires what you do?
Tolulope Owasanoye: What inspires what I do, or the source of my motivation, is this divine statement: “You are writing to order the steps of a generation.” So when I write, I am convinced that the message is not from me, but from Him (God). I believe I can never be without a message to tell, and that keeps me going. Also, my passion for seeing people's lives transformed keeps the fire ignited.
Adediwura Afolabi: I know you must have mentioned this. What was the inspiration behind the book?
Tolulope Owasanoye: The inspiration behind this book entails the origin and motivation behind the book. As a Christian creative who is submitted to using her potential for God, the Holy Spirit inspired this book. Yes, God has a message for humanity, and He communicates it by His Spirit through a yielded vessel. It was the message in His heart, and that message became a book.
Adediwura Afolabi: When there were challenges to the book's launch, why didn't you give up?
Tolulope Owasanoye: I was convinced and conscious that the world needs to get the message. Also, my friends and family supported me through it all. That really encouraged me.
Adediwura Afolabi: The question of identity is a controversial one. How does your book address that?
Tolulope Owasanoye: The majority believe that their identity is rooted in their name, culture, beliefs, past, failure, current situations or realities and so on. Since these factors contribute to Identity in the social sense, as accepted by society, it's still not the core of identity. There is the central core of identity; it is deeper than it's viewed. It is of eternal relevance.
This is why one could be named Wealth, be prosperous, highly esteemed in society, and still feel a void within. This void is a call to something deeper, a call to do more.
My book explores and addresses the concept of identity as something deeper, one that is rooted and connected to God by the revelation of our truth. For instance, Gideon never saw himself as a mighty man of valour. To him, he was just a weak man from the smallest clan. He responded with doubt, asking why God would choose him. God’s message, however, was clear: “Go in the strength you have and save Israel.”
If God called him a mighty man of valour, God made him that. Whatever insecurity or low self-esteem he was battling with didn't matter at all. That was who he was; that was his core.
Same for Abraham (Father of many nations).
In other words, our identity is rooted in God. We are who God says we are. However, it is unfortunate that the majority do not know their Creator. This has led them to define themselves merely by name, culture, and other external factors.
So yeah, that's the message.
Adediwura Afolabi: Hmm… Thank you very much, ma.

That was it, guys! The author interview session was amazing!
Of course, the event proceeded to the next programme for that day.
I am grateful to God for a successful wrap-up of the book launch and the grace to complete the book and release it.
In addition to all that was shared above, I'd love to share: A DEEP SECRET YOU DIDN'T KNOW ABOUT IDENTITY
